Hospice of Tennessee Valley welcomes volunteers of all ages and talents.

Volunteers play a heartfelt role in the good work at Hospice of Tennessee Valley. Hospice of Tennessee Valley offers many rewarding opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to share their time, talents and interests on behalf of our patients and families.
No Experience Needed. We Provide
Training.
You do not have to be a healthcare professional to volunteer
with Hospice of Tennessee Valley. We welcome you to use the
talents you already have or to broaden your horizons and
learn a new skill that interests you. Our Volunteer Services
staff will help you feel prepared, confident and appreciated
in whatever role you choose. We do ask that all volunteers
bring the following qualities to their work at Hospice of
Tennessee Valley:
· good communication and listening skills
· a nonjudgmental attitude
· reliability
· flexibility
· compassion
Hospice of Tennessee Valley volunteers:
· are any age, any race, any religious belief
· are integral members of the Hospice of Tennessee Valley team
· are caring, open, flexible and accepting
· give back to life what has been shared with them
· affirm life not just by words, but by actions
· enrich their own life by enriching the lives of others
No Pay, but Great Benefits!
Did you know that when you volunteer to help others, you increase your own odds of living a healthier, longer, more satisfying life.
According to the Corporation for National and Community Service (May 2007) research report finding, that just two hours of volunteer service a week:
· Improved functional ability and health outcomes for those who volunteered regardless of socioeconomic status, education, marital status, age, gender and ethnicity
· Improved physical and mental health in volunteers age 65-plus due to personal sense of accomplishment
· Lowered rates of depression in volunteers age 65-plus
· Reduced despair and depression for adult heart attack survivors who volunteered
