Music Ministry

Hospice of Tennessee Valley is proud to present a program that has been bringing smiles to their patients faces for the last few months. The music ministry has been a wonderful addition to the care that the patients are already receiving from the staff.

We believe that every patient should have the best quality of life possible, and this is a ministry that allows the patient to relax and forget about the sickness he or she is facing. It has been proven that music therapy lowers blood pressure and calms labored breathing.

Kerry Gilbert has been participating in the music ministry since December, and he believes it has blessed him more than he could have ever imagined.

"When I am on stage with a band in front of a crowd of people, it is completely different than playing for a person who may just need to be uplifted that day. It's not about me. I believe that music is a great healer of the mind, body and soul. As long as God allows me to be able to serve these patients, I will be a part of the music ministry at Hospice of Tennessee Valley," Gilbert said.
